Beginning:
After many seasons spent Skiing on the Alps we come at one conclusion: performance and design don’t come together in the ski world. From that point we decided to combine our passion for ski and design and the “Janus Project” was born.

Why Janus ?:
Janus as the two faces god, two sides of the same coins. Cutting edge design and performances on one side and respect of the environment on the other side.
Skiing as the freedom to transit between 2 borders, the freedom to push the limits of nature, the freedom to slide on the surface of the world thanks to 2 long wooden skates, looking at each other in a mirror.

The project:
Through this unique project in Monaco, our intention is to introduce the ski into a sustainable approach for the future while combining performance, design and sustainability. This is infused by more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and the introduction of natural materials such as flax fiber, known to be the stiffest of fibers, and the rubber finish coating of recycled tires, bringing flexibility and suppleness to the ski. Technical and graphic qualities that result from the alliance between Italian craftsmanship and the creativity of our Monegasque studio. A creation enriched by the strong environmental values and the political commitment of the Principality for a more sustainable design. A timeless and responsible approach with a face turned towards new horizons of sliding.
After almost two years of materials, design and technical solution research and of course days on the snow testing we started the production of the first JP skis with the support of our friend Sandy of Operaski who helps with his experience to realize our dream, the first JanusProject ski, a performing race carve with its all-black design and its “green soul”.
